Description of Services

The Marietta Memorial Wound Care Center (WCC) is a non-urgent diagnostic and therapeutic center for chronic problem wounds in an outpatient setting. The WCC is part of the Nursing Services Division and is located next to Marietta Occupational Health Partners on the first floor of the hospital.

Patients in the WCC will be seen by a team of experts that includes certified wound care nurses and physicians specializing in diabetic or neuropathic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers (bedsores), venous stasis ulcers and vascular ulcers. The staff will complete a history and physical, order diagnostic tests, and determine a plan of care following established clinical practice guidelines. Treatment will focus on the causation of the wound, co-existing conditions that impact wound healing, and topical wound management. Evidence based clinical practice guidelines for wound healing are used as guidelines for treatment.

If you have a wound that isn't healing, help is available. The Wound Care Center at Marietta Memorial Hospital offers a comprehensive, specialized program to help patients who suffer with non-healing wounds.

Our mission at the WCC is to provide comprehensive and compassionate patient care that improves the health of the people that we serve.
