Marietta Memorial Hospital Employee Receives International Certification
Kelly Gammon, certified registered nurse in obstetrics and unit educator for The Birthing Center at Marietta Memorial Hospital, recently earned the credential of International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) after successfully completing the rigorous international certification exam, developed and administered by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners.
International Board Certified Lactation Consultant certification demonstrates achievement of specialized knowledge and skill development. Nurses certified as IBCLCs possess the skills, knowledge and attitudes to provide comprehensive breastfeeding care and education in routine and special circumstances from conception to early adulthood.
Gammon has been employed by MMH for over 13 years and is also certified in inpatient obstetrics. In addition, Gammon is a neonatal resuscitation instructor and is currently the only IBCLC in Washington County.
Congratulations to Kelly Gammon on her continued commitment to patient care. For more information on this certification or lactation services available at Marietta Memorial Hospital, contact Kelly Gammon at (740) 568-5615.
