MMH Blood Bank Nursing Home Challenge Contest Winner Announced
Marietta Memorial Hospital’s Blood Bank would like to congratulate Muskingum Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation for hosting a recent blood drive and winning the 2011 Nursing Home Challenge Contest. Several local nursing homes sponsored blood drives with MMH in June and participated in a friendly competition to see which facility could collect the most donations.
Mindy Geese, blood mobile site coordinator for Muskingum Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation in Beverly, coordinated the blood drive and helped promote the event by displaying flyers and encouraging community support during their recent annual block party.
“We are honored to have won the challenge this year,” says Geese who serves as the admission/social service director at her facility. “We are happy that the community was willing to help us out to achieve our goal of winning the competition,” says Geese.
Our Blood Donor Mobile unit has enabled the blood bank to visit more sites throughout our community to ensure much needed blood supplies are available locally.
