Harmar Place Rehabilitation and Extended Care is a 86-bed skilled nursing facility located at 401 Harmar Street in Historic Harmar Village, a residential neighborhood in Marietta, Ohio, near the confluence of the Ohio and Muskingum rivers. Our home-like facility offers a clean and well-maintained environment including a quiet lounge with a fireplace and a social lounge with cable television and library area. Families are encouraged to enjoy the outdoors through the use of our courtyard and large patio areas.
Our newly remodeled building offers skilled and intermediate care units with semi-private and private rooms. Each room in our skilled unit is furnished with beautiful armoires and warm color schemes as well as a private bath. Our intermediate care facility residents are encouraged to personalize their rooms with favorite belongings from home.
Harmar Place has an activities director who develops individualized and group programs that focus on the mental, physical, spiritual and social needs of our residents. We also promote independent living through several unique programs, such as gardening and pet therapy.
Harmar Place offers one of the finest, most well-equipped physical, speech and occupational therapy services in southeastern Ohio. Curtis Dehmlow, M.D, an internal medicine specialist, is the facility medical director and is available to see patients who might not have had a physician prior to their stay at Harmar Place. Harmar Place offers the special services of restorative nursing care to many people requiring interim care between a hospital stay and going home. This option provides an attractive, cost-effective alternative to continued hospitalization. Choosing Harmar Place over a prolonged hospital stay will significantly reduce intermediate care costs.
Patients can be directly admitted from home, hospital, assisted living or another nursing facility with the proper criteria, (i.e., history & physical, a list of current medications, PASRR sceen and level of care).
