Geriatric Psychiatric Services
We all have stressors in our life, which can be cause for worry and concern. How we handle and manage those stresses is what allows us to deal with these problems and provide healthy and effective solutions. For some individuals this comes with small efforts but for many, can cause additional emotional and mental illness including depression, anxiety or physical illness.
Memorial Health System’s Geriatric Psychiatric Services is a secure, 17 bed acute care service for individuals 55 years or older, who are experiencing psychiatric symptoms. We have the treatment services that will help you develop successful ways to live a healthy mental and emotional lifestyle.
We provide 24 hour intensive treatment for our patients with acute psychiatric disorders and cognitive impairment, as well as a safe environment, a structured and supportive surrounding and intensive psychiatric therapy.
Our Treatment Care
Our treatment team of health care professionals and patient advocates include psychiatrists, nurses, social workers and an activity therapist. Our treatment team provides each patient with an in-depth assessment and psychiatric evaluation, where problems are identified.
Once complete, an individual treatment plan is developed providing our patient with realistic objectives and goals. In preparing this plan, our staff works with the patient, their family and other health professionals to develop a course of treatment that best meets the needs of the individual.
We accept patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
