Memorial Health Foundation builds healthier families by supporting the needs of Washington County's only nonprofit health system, the Memorial Health System. The Foundation is a separate entity that supports the hospital by helping expand services, purchase new technology and implement programs. But as the cost of providing health services continues to rise and the reimbursement for care declines, the financial strain of providing health care has become an even greater challenge.
The Memorial Health System was developed for the purpose of serving local families. Since 1921, the hospital has done just that. It provides quality health care to all those who need it, and patients don’t have to travel far to find the latest medical technology and advancements in care. Through fund development with local businesses, organizations and individuals, the Foundation is helping the hospital continue that mission. Every dollar raised stays in our community, helping ensure that you, your family and your neighbors continue to receive state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatment from the Memorial Health System.
Here's what you can expect as a supporter of MMH:
- Responsibility - You can be confident your gift goes where you intend. Over the past decade, for example, we have spent less than 12 cents per dollar donated on administrative costs. This is an exceptionally strong record among U.S. not-for-profit organizations.
- Appreciation - On receipt of your gift, we will send you a letter expressing our thanks. The letter documents your gift and serves as your receipt. Your gift is tax deductible as provided by law. If you instruct, we can notify others that your gift has been made (without mentioning the gift amount).
- Privacy - We respect the wishes of our donors who choose to remain anonymous.
- Fellowship - The MMH Society recognizes Annual Appeal donors who make $100+ leadership gifts. We also recognize those who make planned or deferred gifts. Members may receive special publications, invitations to events and updates from Marietta Memorial's senior leadership.
