Marietta Memorial Hospital operates one of only two hospital-based blood banks in Ohio. Eighty to 90 percent of the blood products used at MMH are drawn locally, which is a tremendous advantage in terms of availability, quality and cost. Drawing blood locally can mean a big difference in patient treatment. For example, the hospital can obtain blood products needed by patients more quickly than through off-site blood banks. Our 34-foot Blood Donor Mobile unit is equipped with four donor beds, an area where staff can take confidential donor health histories, and storage space for post-donation snacks & beverages.
